Ephor – Mentoring

As one of the Mentoring Ephors this year, my goal is to ensure that all younger pupils at The Edinburgh Academy feel supported, confident, and comfortable approaching older students about anything. I also want everyone to feel a strong sense of belonging within the EA Community, where every pupil knows they are valued and included.

I joined The Edinburgh Academy at the very start of Nursery and have spent my entire school life here. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate just how special this school is and how much it has shaped who I am today.

Academically, I really enjoy studying French, Chemistry, and Biology, all of which I’m taking at Advanced Higher level, and I plan to study Dentistry at university. I’ve always been drawn to careers that combine practical skill, problem-solving, and helping others, and dentistry feels like the perfect fit.

What makes The Edinburgh Academy truly special is the incredible range of opportunities available for everyone, no matter their interests or abilities. Whether it’s music, drama, sport, or academics, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy and excel in. I also think the size of the school makes it feel like one big family—close-knit, supportive, and welcoming.

If I could give one piece of advice to anyone joining the school, it would be to get involved in as much as you can. It’s the best way to meet new people, discover new passions, and make the most of your time here. You’ll find that the more you put into school life, the more rewarding and memorable your experience will be.
