With a selection of beautiful venues across our two central Edinburgh locations, we offer both indoor and outdoor options to accommodate a wide range of guest capacities. We welcome creative, do-it-yourself design ideas and can host a variety of events, including weddings, BBQs, sports gatherings, dinners, award ceremonies, theatre productions, dance performances, conferences, and networking sessions.

The Main Hall
The Main Hall
Designed by William Burn, a leading architect of the nineteenth century, the foundation stone of the Main Hall was laid in 1823. The timber-panelled entrance door is flanked by imposing doric columns and opens into an oval plan hall with a shallow domed ceiling. The lofty dimensions and play of light in the room give a sense of great space and occasion.
The Main Hall may be an impressive historical space, but it is also a flexible one. To the sides, round-arched niches house wood-panelled doors leading to smaller rooms (ideal as break-out spaces), as well as kitchen and washroom facilities.

- Stained glass signs of the zodiac set into clerestory lantern windows.
- Raised stage area spanning the width of one end of the Hall.
- Mahogany-encased organ, an impressive focal point above the stage, built in memory of Rector Mackenzie who retired in 1901.
- Cantilevered balcony lining the perimeter of the room, carried on doric columns.

Le Roux & The Dow Studio
Le Roux & The Dow
Situated in our senior school in Edinburgh’s New Town, this newly refurbished, adaptable space will accommodate a variety of events such as wedding receptions, conferences, seminars or dinner parties.
Available to hire alongside other areas to give greater flexibility. This venue is equipped with state of the art technology and has multiple areas that can be used as break-out spaces or for catering breaks. Access to a small outdoor area can be used for BBQ’s or making the most of sunshine in the summer months.

Magnusson Theatre
Magnusson Theatre
A fully equipped modern theatre with retractable seating, sound, lighting and projection equipment, and a PA system. Ideal for Fringe performances, lectures and other events.

Gymnasium
This vintage style gym hall is an impressive and flexible space that can be dressed and tailored to any sporting or social event. This is a perfect space for sporting activities or dance rehearsals but is also a unique location for filming and photo shoots.

Senior School Dining Hall
A large versatile room accommodating up to 200 guests. Perfect for wedding receptions and dinners. This spacious hall has a raised stage at one end, making it perfect for dinner dances.
Situated within a self-contained and attractive listed building, with secure off road parking, the hall has wood panelled walls and strip wood floor.
Junior School Halls (Arboretum Road)
Flexible spaces for up to 200 people at dinners and dances.
Meeting Rooms & Classrooms (Henderson Row & Arboretum Road)
Private and intimate spaces accommodating up to 30 people for small dinners, AGMs and meetings.
Mills Suite
A private, intimate setting for up to 20 people for small dinners, AGMs and meetings. The room can hold up to 20 people in comfort for a meeting, and has its own kitchen if catering is required. The Mills Suite is set in secluded gardens making it a quiet and relaxing venue in the centre of the city with off street parking.
Robertson Room
A music room suitable for small performances and rehearsals or as an attractive meeting room. Accommodates up to 70 people.
