Ephor – Activities & Engagement, and Inclusion
As the Ephor for Activities, Engagement, and Inclusion, I hope to be a smiling, welcoming, and approachable presence—someone who speaks to everyone and encourages as many people as possible to get involved in activities where they can feel included, valued, and respected.
Although I only joined The Edinburgh Academy in 6ths (S5), I already feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a warm and supportive community. My goal this year is to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way while helping others do the same.
My favourite subjects are Geography and Art, both of which allow me to think creatively and explore the world from different perspectives. Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about sports—I play hockey, have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and love skiing and mountain biking.
Right now, I’m exploring my options for after school. I will be attending a lot of university open days, but I’m also considering gap year and apprenticeship opportunities before deciding which path to take.
Even though I’ve only been at the Academy a short time, it already feels like home. The number of opportunities available here is amazing—sometimes it’s hard to choose what to do next! The support from teachers, especially around exams, has also been exceptional.
My advice for anyone joining the school would be to seize every opportunity and never hesitate to ask for help, even if you think you don’t need it—the teachers truly want to see you succeed. And one practical tip: get used to Microsoft Teams and OneNote, because you’ll be using them a lot!
