Ephor – Activities & Engagement
As the Ephor for Activities and Engagement, my goal this year is to support and expand the range of opportunities available to pupils, especially in sports and extracurricular activities. I hope to be a friendly and approachable face that others feel comfortable coming to with new ideas, suggestions, or problems.
I first joined The Edinburgh Academy when I was just three years old in Nursery, and it’s been a huge part of my life ever since. Over the years, I’ve come to truly appreciate the sense of community and the strong connections between teachers and pupils that make the Academy so special. The dedication and effort that teachers put into helping us thrive is something I value deeply.
My favourite subjects are Geography and Art. I love Geography because it tackles real-world issues and explores ways to create a more sustainable future for our environment. Art, on the other hand, offers a creative and relaxing outlet, a welcome balance to my other studies. I also really enjoy PE and being part of different sports teams both inside and outside of school.
Looking ahead, I hope to study Geography at university, with a particular interest in human and environmental geography.
For anyone starting Senior School, my biggest piece of advice is not to be afraid to ask questions or seek help—it really does make life easier. And as everyone says (for good reason!), get involved in as many things as you can and try something new—you never know what you might discover or enjoy.
