Ephor – Pastoral, Mentoring, and Activities & Engagement
In my role as Pastoral, Mentoring, and Activities & Engagement Ephor, my goal is to ensure that everyone feels they have someone to turn to about any aspect of school or home life. I want to make sure that all pupils know there’s always someone they can talk to about academic worries or uncertainties—something I’ve often appreciated myself. I also hope to help everyone find an extracurricular activity that suits them, as these opportunities are what make school life truly special.
I joined The Edinburgh Academy in Nursery and have been here throughout my entire school career. The environment the Academy creates is something amazing to be part of, and I genuinely believe it has shaped the person I am today.
My favourite subjects are Music, English, and History, all of which I’ve continued to Advanced Higher. Music is a huge part of my life at EA—I’m involved in several musical groups, including choirs, orchestras, and the pipe band. Looking ahead, I plan to study History at university and hope to become a history teacher in the future.
What I love most about The Edinburgh Academy is that there’s no limit to what you can take part in. You’re never confined to just one activity, which allows every student to explore the many different passions they might have.
If I could give one piece of advice to someone joining the Senior School, it would be: don’t be afraid to get involved in everything. There are so many opportunities here, and there’s never any harm in simply saying yes—you never know what you might discover.
