Ephor – Head of Carmichael

I am delighted to be one of the Division Heads for Carmichael this year. With this responsibility, my goal is to encourage more pupils to get involved in Division activities and to inspire younger students to take on leadership roles within these events. Division life at The Edinburgh Academy is such an important part of our school community, and I hope to make it even more engaging and inclusive for everyone.

I have been a proud pupil at The Edinburgh Academy since Primary 1 and have loved every minute of my time here. Having spent so many years at the school, I can truly say it has shaped me into the person I am today.

Academically, I enjoy a variety of subjects, but my favourites are Biology and Modern Studies. This year, I’m especially excited about Modern Studies, as we’re focusing more on criminology—a topic that really fascinates me. Looking ahead, I plan to study Medicine at university and fulfil my dream of becoming a doctor.

What makes The Edinburgh Academy so special is that there is truly something for everyone. The school helps each of us discover who we are and how to develop our individual strengths, producing confident, well-rounded pupils who are prepared for both exams and life beyond school. The teachers are incredible—they work tirelessly to support us and ensure we’re ready for whatever comes next.

My advice to anyone beginning their journey at EA is to immerse yourself fully in school life and enjoy every moment—it goes by far too quickly. Keep a healthy balance between work, rest, and activities, and work steadily throughout the year. And most importantly, never be afraid to ask questions—everyone here will be happy to help.
