Ephor – Head of Cockburn

As Cockburn Division Head, my goal this year is to boost engagement and participation across all division events. With such a wide range of activities on offer, there really is something for everyone to get involved in. Each event is unique and fun in its own way, and I truly believe that consistent participation can make all the difference when it comes to success in the division competition.

I’ve been part of The Edinburgh Academy since I was three years old, joining in Nursery, and it’s been a huge part of my life ever since. My favourite subjects are Biology and PE because I love their practical and hands-on nature. Biology connects so well to everyday life—it constantly makes me see the world in new ways. I’ve also always been passionate about sport and am proud to be Captain of the First XI Hockey Team this year. Being active and involved in the PE department has played a major role in my time at the Academy.

I’m currently planning to study Law at university, as I’m fascinated by how it shapes society and provides opportunities to make a difference.

What makes The Edinburgh Academy so special to me is the dedication of the teachers and staff. They go above and beyond, recognising achievements and offering help whenever it’s needed. The school provides countless opportunities to explore your interests—and discover new ones along the way.

My advice to anyone joining the Senior School is to take advantage of everything on offer and not to be afraid of trying new things. It’s the best way to feel part of the community, meet new people, and find what you truly enjoy.
