Ephor – Pastoral, Mentoring, and Activities & Engagement
As a Pastoral, Mentoring, and Activities & Engagement Ephor, my goal is to have a positive impact on others and help create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking support. I want to contribute to maintaining the Academy’s warm and supportive community, while also developing my own leadership and active listening skills along the way.
I joined The Edinburgh Academy in 2022, entering 4ths (S3), and although I’ve been here for a shorter time than many others, I’ve quickly grown to love the school and everything it stands for. The welcoming nature of both students and staff made it easy to feel part of the community, and I’ve enjoyed every minute since joining.
My favourite subjects are Physics and Maths, as I love the challenge of problem-solving and trying to understand how the universe works. Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about music and take part in both choir and orchestra, as well as the annual school show—activities that have given me some of my best memories at EA.
Looking ahead, I’m planning to study either Engineering or Physics at university, and I hope to stay in Scotland.
What makes The Edinburgh Academy so special to me is its size and sense of family. The smaller school environment means everyone knows each other, and the teachers are always supportive and dedicated to helping every pupil succeed. There are so many opportunities here to explore new interests, meet people, and grow.
My advice to anyone joining the school would be to take every opportunity that comes your way—even if it’s something new. Getting involved is the best way to make friends, build confidence, and discover new passions.
