Ephor – Head of Tours
As one of the Heads of Tours Ephor, my goal this year is to ensure that every visitor has the best possible experience when viewing The Edinburgh Academy. I also want to give as many pupils as possible the opportunity to take part in tours and show off what makes our school so special. I’ve always believed that the pupils themselves are the Academy’s greatest ambassadors—they truly bring the school to life.
I first joined The Edinburgh Academy in 2015, when I was just seven years old, and since then I’ve discovered an incredible sense of community here. I’ve thrown myself into all aspects of school life and have found that the more you get involved, the more rewarding your experience becomes.
My favourite subject is Spanish, which I plan to study at university alongside Linguistics. I’m fascinated by how languages connect people and reflect different cultures. I also really enjoy Geography, particularly the human side of the subject, as I love learning about how people and societies interact with the world around them.
What makes The Edinburgh Academy truly special to me is its size. Being a smaller school gives it a unique, personal feel—teachers really get to know their pupils, and there’s a strong sense of community that connects everyone.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone joining the school, it would be to get involved in everything you can. My own school experience would have been completely different without the wide range of extracurricular activities I’ve taken part in. With so much on offer—whether it’s sport, music, drama, or something completely new—there’s no better way to make friends, build confidence, and create lasting memories.
