Ephor – Head of Houses

As Division Head of Houses, my goal this year is to lead my division to success in the competition while encouraging as many people as possible to get involved. I also want to help strengthen relationships across different year groups, building a real sense of teamwork and community within the school.

I joined The Edinburgh Academy in Primary 4 after moving around different countries when I was younger. Settling here has been such a positive experience—I’m so glad to have found a place where I’ve been able to make great friendships and truly feel at home.

My favourite subject is Biology because it helps me understand how living things function. I find the human body particularly fascinating—learning how all its systems connect and work together gives me a deeper appreciation of how complex and incredible life really is. Looking ahead, I’d like to study Biology at university, as it’s the subject I’m most passionate about and one that constantly sparks my curiosity.

What makes The Edinburgh Academy so special to me is the strong sense of connection between pupils and teachers. The smaller school size means you really get to know everyone, and the teachers genuinely care about helping you be the best version of yourself. I also love that the Academy encourages us to explore beyond academics—there are so many opportunities in sport, music, drama, and more.

If I could give one piece of advice to anyone joining the Senior School, it would be to get involved in as much as you can. There’s truly something for everyone here, and by trying new activities you’ll not only discover new interests but also meet amazing people and make lasting memories.
