Dr Fiona Wilson

Fiona is the Clinical Director and Founder of The Edinburgh Practice, a multidisciplinary mental health practice in central Edinburgh. Before establishing the practice in 2017, Fiona worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for many years after completing her doctoral training at Edinburgh University. Originally from Dublin, Fiona also holds a PhD in Psychology from University College Dublin.
Fiona is a registered member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists UK and a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). In her role as Clinical Director, Fiona is responsible for leading the practice, overseeing clinical governance, clinical risk management and professional policy implementation as well as developing new clinical services.
In her individual therapeutic work, Fiona has a particular interest in helping people who are experiencing psychological difficulties arising from traumatic experiences. She also has a special interest and experience in mental health and psychological problems related to sports performance and provides support to a number of professional sporting bodies in Scotland.
Outside of work, Fiona enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and practicing yoga. She has two children who are both pupils in the Junior School.
