Head Ephor

I joined The Edinburgh Academy at the end of 5ths (S4) and have quickly become part of its close-knit community. As a Head Ephor, my goal is to strengthen the sense of community across the school and encourage collaboration within year groups. I also aim to lead the ephor team effectively, ensuring we meet the school’s needs while helping pupils make the most of the many opportunities available to them.

My favourite subjects are Maths and Economics, and they’ve shaped my early ideas about what I might study at university—most likely Economics or Business.

Having joined from another school, I can really appreciate what makes the Academy special. There’s a true family atmosphere here, and the division competitions add a fun and friendly sense of rivalry among friends. The smaller size of the school also means the staff get to know us personally, offering support and guidance whenever it’s needed.

My advice to anyone joining the Senior School would be to get involved in as many opportunities and activities as possible—your time here goes by incredibly quickly. I’d also encourage new pupils to embrace the ACCIE values, as they genuinely reflect what life at the Academy is all about.
