Ruari graduated from Napier University in Edinburgh and has spent over 25 years in senior Human Resources and Organisation Development roles across a range of business sectors including Technology, Engineering and Financial Services with UK and international remits. A specialist in the people elements of Mergers and Acquisitions Ruari has designed and led many large-scale employee transformation programmes as part of major changes in organisation, including transferring in and out of Private Equity ownership.
For the last 10 years Ruari moved to focus his career on Regulatory Compliance within the Financial Services Sector, working within Banks, Insurance and Credit Management firms, and he has become one of the leading advisors on the regulator’s Individual Accountability and Conduct Regimes which underpin the cultural transformation that is in place within the sector.
Away from his career activities Ruari, who lives in Edinburgh, spends time providing career counselling for young people to help transition from secondary or tertiary education through to building the early stages of their career. He is an avid sports fan, now more as a spectator than a participator, although Skiing and Golf remain some of his active passions! A number of Ruari’s family are/have been Academicals, including his daughter and his Father.
